Val Solorzano established Chick of All Trades Company (C.O.A.T) in 2005. C.O.A.T. Flagging provides comprehensive traffic control solutions, including Certified Flaggers, Traffic Control Supervisors (TCS), Traffic Control Rental Equipment, and Traffic Control Plan Design services. In 2022, C.O.A.T. Excavation was founded to offer supervision, equipment, and certified operators for projects requiring stockpiling, erosion control, and the moving, removal, and shaping of soil and rock.

C.O.A.T. prioritizes long-term relationships built on safety, respect, and exceptional service with both clients and associates. The company is proud to be a certified DBE, MBE, and WBE in Oregon and UDBE and FSBE in Washington. C.O.A.T. is licensed in Oregon and Washington, with many projects concentrated in the Portland metro area and Southwest Washington.

In addition to her work with AGC and the AGC Union Contractors Group, Val serves as a board member and advisor for several other organizations, including the LiUNA 737 Health and Welfare Training Trust, the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs (OAME), LatinoBuilt, and the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC).
